Unemployed council organizer, L.A. black activist charged with "terrorism"
Winter 1995-96   Camilla Cracchiolo Turning the Tide v.8 #4
avail. box1990 Burbank CA 91507 posted Michael Novick

Deacon Alexander is an African American man and long-time community activist in Los Angeles. This summer, he was arrested & charged with terrorism in connection with the labor organizing efforts of the Los Angeles Unemployed Council. He and other members of the group have been visiting contractors in S.Central L.A. and trying to get them to hire African American workers at union wages at construction sites in the area.

Charging Alexander with terrorism for this fundamental, grass-roots, bread & butter economic organizing is very alarming and represents the latest application of the law to repress any political activity. It's a measure of how, despite the L.A. City Council's repeated declaration that the city is a "racism- free" zone, racism continues to be as fundamental to the "re-building" of L.A. as it was to the city's original development.

After nearly 3 months in jail, during which he became ill from lack of proper medical treatment in the jail, Deacon Alexander was freed on $100,000 bail on Sept. 25. With $75,000 in cash raised in L.A. & NY, and $100,000 in individual property collateral,
Deacon is now free to work in the community on his own defense, and to help continue the Council's work. However, 3 other members of the the L.A. Unemployed Council have been jailed on highly questionable charges. The most recently arrested activists are Derrick Jeff, Mark Jackson and Deshawn Edmond.

Alexander's bail, originally set at $185,000, was reduced after several prominent community figures stepped forward in his behalf. These were Congress member Maxine Waters, L.A. School Board member Barbara Boudreaux, Judge Vaino Spencer and community activist Danny Bakewell. Those participating in Alexander's defense come from a variety of organizations including the Free Geronimo Pratt Committee, the L.A. 4+ committee, Mothers R.O.C. (Reclaiming Our Children), and the Los Angeles Committee of Correspondence.

Lennox Hinds, past president of the National Conference of Black Lawyers has joined the defense team for Alexander. Meanwhile, motions to drop the terrorism charges and for Alexander to act as co-counsel with his attorneys have been denied.

The defense committee is trying to raise $25,000 to cover court costs, legal services and defense expenses. Your help and support continue to be needed. Donations can be sent to address at the top of this article. Most important, Deacon Alexander and the other folks from the Unemployed Council need our support at the trial.

The Ebell Club of Los Angeles was packed to capacity with the overflow seated in the garden for the 4th annual Gospel Brunch to benefit the "I Have a Dream" Foundation of Los Angeles & Pasadena. More than 600 guests turned out for last Sunday's event, which honored David E. Kelley's & Fox Television's "Boston Public" for its realistic portrayal of an inner-city high school, and atty Barry Edwards, former chairman of the foundation board, whose efforts have raised more than $1 million and who also helped develop a relationship between IHAD & Sylvan Learning Centers.

This year's event raised $800,000, thanks in part to response to a challenge grant from the Whittier Family Fdtn. The funds are earmarked for the adoption of another first-grade class of "Dreamers" in East L.A. The "I Have a Dream" Foundation was created in 1981, when NY businessman Eugene Lang offered college tuition to a class of 6th graders in E.Harlem. 90% completed high school; 60% went to college.
Since 1987, IHAD of L.A. has served more than 700 low-income students in South-Central and Pasadena. "Our commitment is to help only the neediest among us," said Harold C. Haizlip, executive director of the foundation. "We find a school where 99% of the families are at the lowest income level. Most people look at the pathology of second-class citizens and don't have much hope for these youngsters. I say it's just the circumstances of their birth … it shouldn't be a sentence for life." …

The problem with the Bush vs. Gore election fight in Florida is that it was an enormous but unspoken MONEY FIGHT between 2 groups of concealed fighters. One is called Rothschild-Shell-British Petroleum-Gore and the other is called Rockefeller-Exxon-Mobil-Bush. The Rothschild vs. Rockefeller history of trying to do take-overs on each other and dominate the capitalist world is a hundred years old and Ralph Nader knows all about it but he doesn't name the names. He just calls them multi-national corporations and says they do a lot of thieving of the taxpayers.

The background to this specific 100 year old fight is that Rothschild of London formerly owned a lease from the Czar of Russia for all the oil of the Caspian Sea area, the largest oil reserve in the world. Then, in 1917, the Lenin revolution took it away from him and his heirs remained pissed off about it until Gorbachev dissolved USSR communism by 1990. Rockefeller's Exxon then immediately rushed in and made a deal with President Yeltsin to build a pipe line and buy all that oil.
Rothschild said to hell with the deal and immediately paid for a rebellion of Chechnya Muslims to cut the pipe line and queer the oil deal.

Later, they had the Democrats launch the Kosovo War with Cohn-Albright-and-Berger, after they forced Clinton to agree by the Moncia Lewinsky episode. The Rothschild-Shell-Arco-Texaco-British Petroleum strategy was to carve up Russia into smaller pieces and steal the oil away from Rockefeller because the Czar had leased it to them in the first place. Ralph Nader knows all this, but he is afraid to name the names. But that's still not the whole story. The Rockefeller Mafia gang has also lost a serious amount of it total world power to the Rothschild Mafia gang doing corporate take-overs on their banks, oil companies, stock brokers and manufacturing.

The Rothschild mob and their affiliated gangs now total about 70% of the U.S. economy and the Rockefeller allies about 30%, give or take a few fast foods, TV stations and finance companies ¹. However, that all changes a lot if Bush gets in the White House because he can help the Exxon-Mobil deal to buy the Russian oil instead of stealing it, and launch even more anti-monopoly cases like the one that forced Microsoft, bankrolled by Rothschild, to split up. All of this, however, will be a losing proposition because the Rothschild gang power based in London is estimated at $31.5 trillion dollars and they will probably dump the Stock Market to bring a Recession and force Bush out of the White House. The Rothschild gang has wall-to-wall power in Wall Street and there is absolutely nothing that can be done to stop them dumping the Stock Market when they want to. Greenspan and the Federal Reserve.

If you don't believe me, ask Ralph Nader. The money motive in dumping the Market would also be to force down the stock price of Rockefeller's Exxon-Mobil and other corporations until it is low enough to do a final take-over by the rival mob. That's the plan, and the Rothschild mob would win even though their front-man, Al Gore, had temporarily lost the White House. The time may soon come when Ralph Nader will be forced to start naming names and telling the past history of these financial wars, like how Rothschild controlled the Democratic Party back in the days of the slave trade & the cotton business. Then the shift was made to the Democrats through a guy named Baruch, then to the Republicans during the Goldwater to Reagan years, and finally back to the Democrats for Kosovo. Daniel Boone said it always pays to be shifty in a new country and the Rothschild gang has followed that principle from the time they controlled Queen Victoria in the good old days. So that's where it stands today.

The Rothschild Mafia is the big dog of finance, oil, food, metals, gold, diamonds, stores, media, TV, fast food, real estate, cars, insurance, stocks, you name it. If they decide to give us a recession, we'll have a Recession and 25% unemployment in South Central and a lot of poor people suffering & raising hell in a riot and burning stuff down. That doesn't seem like a very good idea for the country but maybe they don't see it the same way we do. We can either vote for Ralph Nader or go out & riot until they decide to quit doing the Recession gimmick. Actually, if George Bush gives us Colin Powell as Secretary of State and Condeleeza Rice as National Security Advisor, that's a hell of a lot better than Albright and Berger from the Rothschild gang and Clinton. But one thing for sure, don't let Rev. Jesse Jackson say "Hymie Town" the way did a few years ago. That was very un- political to say and violates the ACLU Constitution, right? (even though he's completely reformed now and is out there preaching for Gore to anyone who will listen). So let's all hang in there and keep thinking, keep talking, and remember the words of Moses. "JUSTICE, JUSTICE YOU SHALL PURSUE"   Moses also said, "this people is guilty of a great sin in making for themselves a God of gold." Moses also said, "nor shall he amass silver and gold to excess." Then Saul of Tarsus summed it all up with the Bible words, "The love of money is the root of all evil." It sounds to me like he got it just about right... BUT HOW DO WE BUILD THE GREEN PARTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL?
